SKYE MCMICHAEL | MBA
Chief Executive Officer
Skye is the co-founder at Oak & Stone Development. Skye has an extensive business management education background, he received his Bachelor of Arts Degree in Business Administration from Fort Lewis College in 2007 and his Master of Business Administration from the University of the Redlands in 2014.
Skye has 10 + years of project management as the former Chief Executive Officer and Chairman of the Gaming Committee for the La Jolla Band of Luiseno Indians. As CEO he oversaw daily operations of the tribe 4 enterprises, the La Jolla Indian Campground & RV Resort, La Jolla ZipZoom Ziplines, and La Jolla Trading Post and Casino. As the Chairman of the Gaming Committee he secured financing using the BIA guarantee loan program to Renovate the tribes C-Store and added a slot casino in a separate phase. He facilitated the purchase of the tribes traditional lands and began the Fee to Trust process. He put together an EDA grant and was awarded $10 million to build an adventure park resort, while strengthening disaster relief mitigation measures to the tribe and their enterprises.
He was the Project Coordinator at All Mission Indian Housing Authority, which oversaw development and housing construction of 12 reservations. There he assisted in the completion of ICDBG grants for each tribe. He worked at Wells Fargo and was a Native Lending and mortgage consultant and was the HUD 184 loan program specialist where he helped tribal executive teams develop communities utilizing HUD 184, USDA loans and Section 6 funding sources. He was also the Vice Chairman of the California Native Network Board.

SHANE MELBO
Co-Founder & COO
15 years of project management and commercial real estate development experience. After finishing his senior athletic season as a football player at Portland State University, Shane Melbo, became a student assistant linebacker coach at PSU. Upon graduation, Shane turned down an offer from the team to be a full-time assistant coach at Portland State, headed back to Southern California, and entered the Construction and Development Industry. Shane worked as a Project Manager for a commercial general contractor, Lusardi Construction. Shane managed the construction of schools, resort facilities, industrial parks, country clubs, retail facilities and more. While at Lusardi Construction, Shane Melbo received several awards and recognitions from clients for his performance in successfully completing projects. After several years of successful projects, Shane was hired by the largest developer in San Diego. This developer built hospitals, train stations, commercial office buildings, research laboratories, university facilities and more. Shane was responsible for managing several projects at once, but also for managing and publishing the master schedule for all developments – over $7 billion worth. It was during this time that Shane Melbo and Skye McMichael started Oak & Stone Development. While at Oak and Stone Development, Shane won the coveted NCAIED 40 under 40 award, nationally recognized as a Tribal Member for his professional work and achievements developing in Indian Country. To date, across his several employments, and as Owner/COO of Oak & Stone Development, Shane Melbo has overseen over $300 million in completed projects and is currently overseeing another $200 million. During his professional career, Shane has successfully negotiated approvals and partnerships with many permitting jurisdictions, cities, the State of California, CALTRANS, BIA, DSA, OSHPD, HCAI, EPA, EDA, USDA, and much more. Shane has also been a key member in securing millions in state and federal grants for his clients. He has experience in securing millions in financing for his clients as well. Shane is known for his talent, problem-solving, management skills, negotiation, and team-building.

This expertise in psychology has been instrumental in guiding his approach to leadership and community building.
