SKYE MCMICHAEL | MBA
Chief Executive Officer
Skye is the co-founder at Oak & Stone Development. Skye has an extensive business management education background, he received his Bachelor of Arts Degree in Business Administration from Fort Lewis College in 2007 and his Master of Business Administration from the University of the Redlands in 2014.
Skye has 10 + years of project management as the former Chief Executive Officer and Chairman of the Gaming Committee for the La Jolla Band of Luiseno Indians. As CEO he oversaw daily operations of the tribe 4 enterprises, the La Jolla Indian Campground & RV Resort, La Jolla ZipZoom Ziplines, and La Jolla Trading Post and Casino. As the Chairman of the Gaming Committee he secured financing using the BIA guarantee loan program to Renovate the tribes C-Store and added a slot casino in a separate phase. He facilitated the purchase of the tribes traditional lands and began the Fee to Trust process. He put together an EDA grant and was awarded $10 million to build an adventure park resort, while strengthening disaster relief mitigation measures to the tribe and their enterprises.
He was the Project Coordinator at All Mission Indian Housing Authority, which oversaw development and housing construction of 12 reservations. There he assisted in the completion of ICDBG grants for each tribe. He worked at Wells Fargo and was a Native Lending and mortgage consultant and was the HUD 184 loan program specialist where he helped tribal executive teams develop communities utilizing HUD 184, USDA loans and Section 6 funding sources. He was also the Vice Chairman of the California Native Network Board.
SHANE MELBO
Chief Operations Officer
Shane is the co-founder at Oak and Stone Development. Shane obtained his Bachelor's of Arts Degree in Communications from Portland State University, Portland Oregon.
Shane has 10 + years of project management and commercial real estate development experience. Shane’s experience includes employment as project manager for the development, design and construction division at one of the largest employers and real estate developers in all of San Diego, currently undergoing $10 billion dollars’ worth of construction and development; project manager for a large-scale commercial general contractor; owner’s representative for Oak & Stone Development. Shane has also previously been an owner’s representative and project manager directly employed by the La Jolla Band of Luiseno Indians before co-founding and beginning projects for Oak & Stone Development. To date has completed $93 million in projects that range from retail centers, Tribal travel centers, hospitality, industrial and educational.
